Bridges Road at Willow Lane

The low bid was awarded to Falcon Design Consultants, LLC of Stockbridge, GA not to exceed $103,286. A traffic study will be completed to evaluate whether a traffic signal or roundabout is the better solution; however, previous discussions favor a roundabout for the intersection.

The project budget equals $2,065,000 funded entirely through SPLOST V district III funds.

Bill Gardner Parkway at Lester Mill Road

The intersection of Bill Gardner Parkway at Lester Mill Road was converted to an all-way stop in February 2020 following crashes at the intersection, including one fatality. The all-way stop was a temporary measure until long-term improvements could be designed, right of way acquired, and constructed.

A design bid has been awarded to Falcon Design in an amount up to $89,605. A traffic study will determine which form of improvement should be installed, but a traffic signal is more likely than a roundabout. This is to save costs now and in the future considering Bill Gardner Parkway is a candidate for widening to four lanes.

$250,000 is budgeted for the project within SPLOST V district I funding.

Burg Road dirt road paving

Burg Road connects Peeksville Road and SR 42 in southeastern Henry County. The dirt road paving project has a total budget of $3,804,000.

Design was awarded to Falcon Design in the amount of $117,645. The project is located in commission district I.

Dutchtown Road dirt road paving

Dutchtown Road extends between Jonesboro Road and Mt Carmel Road in district II. Specific transportation projects were not budgeted in the district’s SPLOST V budget and, instead, $4,017,500 was budgeted for generic dirt road paving projects.

Design services for the project was awarded to Heath & Lineback Engineers, Inc. of Marietta, GA in the amount of $215,025. Falcon Design opted not to bid on this project.
