Georgia DOT awards contract to resurface I-75

Georgia DOT has announced the awarding of a resurfacing contract for I-75 northbound between SR 155 / mile 216 and SR 36 / mile 201 in Henry, Spalding, and Butts Counties. The contract was awarded to C. W. Matthews and E. R. Snell for $16.8 million. It is anticipated that the project will be complete in late winter of 2020.

The project is the second of two recently awarded bids to resurface this segment of I-75. The first bid involved the southbound lanes and was contracted on February 22, 2019 to C. W. Matthews and E. R. Snell for $17.1 million. The timeline for both projects is the same.

A separate project was also awarded to install raised pavement markers on I-75 between the Clayton County line and Walt Stephens Road. The contract was awarded to Peek Pavement Marking, LLC of Columbus, Georgia for $588,335 with an estimated completion date of late winter 2020.
