Earlier this month, Henry County officials held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for fire station 6 and the Fairview police precinct. The new facilities are located on Fairview Road near the intersection with Panola Road. They represent the first projects completed through SPLOST V collections.

Henry County awarded the design-build contract for the project in September 2020. J.R. Bowman Construction Company, Inc. of McDonough, GA performed the work.

Fire Station 6

Firefighters have a new three-bay station to call home in the Fairview area. The building measures 9,000 square feet and can house up to eight personnel. The building also has a day area for the crew.

The new fire station 6 replaces an existing building. Henry County constructed the old station 6 in 1989. An engine crew and ambulance work out of the station.

Funding in the SPLOST V program also includes a rebuild of fire station 5 in Hampton. In addition, the county plans to build two new stations through the program. The SPLOST V collections span April 2020 to March 2025.

Construction also included a new Fairview Police Precinct. The precinct is the first of four police buildings in SPLOST V.

The 2,750 square feet building includes office space, a conference room and break room for officers.

Other police precincts will be in commission districts II, III and IV. Final locations are to be determined.
