New hotels proposed in Stockbridge

Two rezoning requests within one-thousand feet of each other will be presented to the Stockbridge Planning Commission later this week. Both requests, located along Country Club Drive and Patrick Henry Parkway in the Eagles Landing area, are to rezone property from C-2 (general commercial) to C-3 (heavy Commercial) for the purpose of constructing hotels.

The rezoning requests are scheduled before the Stockbridge Planning Commission on Thursday, August 22, at 6 pm. The city council will consider the requests on Monday, September 9, at 6 pm. Meetings are held at Stockbridge city hall on North Henry Blvd and open to the public.

Property east of 160 Country Club Drive

YM Hospitality Group of Stockbridge, GA requests a rezoning from C-2 (general commercial) to C-3 (heavy commercial) for 1.268 acres located east of 160 Country Club Drive. YM Hospitality owns several hotels in the area, including Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites in Stockbridge, and Holiday Inn Express & Hilton Garden Inn in McDonough.

Property at 2725 Patrick Henry Parkway

Palace Hospitality, LLC of Alpharetta, GA requests a rezoning from C-2 (general commercial) to C-3 (heavy commercial) for 3.545 acres located at 2725 Patrick Henry Pkwy. Palace Hospitality Group LLC was registered with the Georgia Secretary of State’s office in November 2016; no other information about the applicant could be located online.

More information will be uploaded if it becomes available. As of Monday, August 19, an agenda packet has not yet been uploaded for Thursday’s meeting.
