
The Georgia DOT is advising motorists in Henry County that crews will be shifting traffic on Jonesboro Street in McDonough, starting east of Rosebud Lane on Tuesday, Apr. 16, 2019. Eastbound traffic will be directed to utilize the newly-constructed connector to Keys Ferry Street which will then continue onto Georgia 20/81. Westbound traffic will be directed to the newly-constructed Geranium Drive connector and then back to Jonesboro Street. A four-way stop at the intersection of these points – Geranium Drive and Keys Ferry Street – is installed to safely allow traffic to flow in all directions.
The traffic shift will start at some time between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. It will be in place throughout the duration of the next phase of the project, which involves milling and resurfacing a portion of Jonesboro Street and completing the roundabout at Jonesboro Street and Doris Street.
All drivers are urged to watch for and follow the signage and slow their speeds in the newly-shifted traffic.
