Henry County commissioners met virtually this week because of the winter weather. All public hearing items were postponed as a result. In addition, the applicant withdrew their request for a new gas station in the Union Grove area.

The county will reschedule public hearings for requests off Keys Ferry Road and Westridge Pkwy.

Gas Station Request Withdrawn

Tushar Patel of McDonough, GA had applied to rezone 2.2 acres of land. The request was located at the northwest corner of highway 155 and Millers Mill Road. He was proposing a convenience store and gas station at the location. Mr. Patel has now withdrawn that request.

The zoning advisory board considered the request in September 2024. They recommended denial at the time. Planning staff had also recommended denial. The request was inconsistent with the county’s future land use map.

Keys Ferry Road & Westridge Parkway Postponed

Two public hearings were postponed; the county will reschedule them. The first request is to consider rezoning 239 acres off Keys Ferry Road for a proposed subdivision. The proposed zoning district, R-1, requires minimum one-acre lots. The applicant is proposing 159 homes.

The second request will consider modifying a master development plan for 13 acres. The property is located off Westridge Parkway behind the Publix shopping center. The applicant, JRC Farris, LLC of Johns Creek, GA, is proposing a condominium development. The proposal has 132 two and three-story condos.

The board will consider both requests at a meeting date TBA.
