
Several meetings will be happening the week of February 10, 2025. Here’s your look at what’s taking place in Henry County.
- Henry County School Board, Monday February 10, at 4 pm and 7 pm,
- Stockbridge Council, Monday, February 10, at 6 pm,
- District 2 Commissioner Neat Robinson Town Hall, Monday, February 10, at 6:30 pm,
- Hampton Council, Tuesday, February 11, at 6 pm,
- McDonough Planning Commission, Tuesday, February 11, at 6 pm, and
Meetings the Week of February 10, 2025
Henry County Schools
The school board will hold their monthly meeting on Monday, February 10. The board of education holds a 4 pm study session then a 7 pm business meeting. Items are discussed in-depth during the 4 o’clock meeting then voted on later that evening. The board meets at the school district office in downtown McDonough.
Agenda items include the school board voting on opting out of House Bill 581, the statewide floating homestead exemption. The school board held three public hearings in January to consider the opt-out. They may now vote on the measure. The board will also consider adopting the 2025-2028 school calendars.
Stockbridge Council
Next, the Stockbridge council meets Monday at 6 pm. They meet at Stockbridge city hall.
Agenda items include the following public hearings:
- Adopt the city’s zoning map, to reflect changes in the past 18 months,
- Consider the annexation, comp plan and rezoning request for 1778 & 1872 Highway 42 North. The applicant, Meritage Homes, is proposing retail space and a subdivision at SR 42 and Campground Road.
- Consider a city text amendment to revise gas station standards. The revision would reduce the city’s buffer from 4,500′ to 800′, and incorporate additional development standards for new gas stations.

Commissioner Robinson Town Hall
In addition, District 2 Commissioner Neat Robinson will host her quarterly town hall on Monday. It starts at 6:30 pm at Red Oak UMC, 3894 Walt Stephens Road, Stockbridge. Discussion topics will be Parks & Recreation and SPLOST VI.
District 2 represents north Henry County. It includes portions of the Dutchtown, Fairview and Stockbridge communities.
Hampton Council
Moving to Tuesday, the Hampton council will hold their monthly meeting on Feb. 11. Public hearing items will begin at 6 pm. The regular meeting will begin immediately thereafter, or at 6:30 pm, whichever is later.
Hearings include a proposed data center on Georgia 20, gas station standards and revisions to the city's mixed-use comprehensive plan categories. The council meets at Hampton city hall.
McDonough Planning Commission
Secondly, the McDonough Planning Commission will also meet on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at 6 pm. The planning commission is a recommending body on rezoning requests within the city; the council has the ultimate final say.
The MPC will consider concept plan review for a gas station on Willow Lane, and rezoning request for a new subdivision on McGarity Road. The board meets at McDonough city hall.
