
Happy February! Here is a look at meetings the week of February 3, 2025. Locust Grove, McDonough and the BOC have meetings. The North Ola plan will also host its next stakeholder meeting.
Meetings the Week of February 3, 2025
Locust Grove Council
The Locust Grove council meets on Monday, February 3, at 6 pm. The council meets at the public safety building on Highway 42.
Agenda items include consideration to adopt new sanitation rates, following a rate increase by the city’s service provider. The council will also consider applying for a grant to pay for a survey of historic structures within the city.
Rep Santos Swearing-In
In addition on Monday night, State Rep Mary Ann Santos (D-McDonough) will host a local swearing-in ceremony. It will be at the county office beginning at 6:30 pm.
Board of Commissioners
The county commissioners will meet on Tuesday morning at 9 am. The board meets at the county admin office in McDonough.
Agenda items include adopting a memorandum of understanding between Creekside Christian and parks & recreation for programming. Other items are a resolution in support of bringing additional skate parks to Henry County. The board’s agenda items are all part of the consent agenda. The agenda is available to view here.
McDonough Council
Next, the McDonough council meets on Thursday, February 6, at 6 pm. They meet at city hall.
Agenda items include those postponed from January 21. The council was unable to meet because of the winter weather. The agenda includes consideration to approve the landscaping contract to improve the McDonough Square. The council will also consider issuing a request for proposals (RFP) for a city parks master plan. Finally, the council will consider awarding construction for a soccer mini pitch at Alexander Park.
North Ola Plan
Lastly, the North Ola plan stakeholders’ committee will hold its next meeting. The public meeting will be on Thursday at 6 pm. It too is at the county admin building on Henry Parkway, McDonough. The plan held its first public meeting in December.
