State Rep Mary Ann Santos will host a local swearing-in ceremony on Monday, February 3, at 6:30 pm. Rep Santos represents the McDonough area at the State Capitol.

The swearing-in is ceremonial in nature. Members of the community can attend. State representatives had their official swearing-in when the legislative session started in January.

Rep Santos Swearing-In

The ceremonial swearing-in will take place on Monday, February 3, at 6:30 pm. It will be at the county admin building at 140 Henry Parkway in McDonough. An RSVP form is available online.

Rep Santos (D-McDonough) represents house district 117. This includes the McDonough area as well as Luella. A portion of Locust Grove is also in the district. House district 117 is one of two state house districts who represent solely Henry County. Other house districts contain portions of adjacent counties.

Rep Santos has been assigned to the following committees for the 2025-2026 session:

  • Code Revision
  • Judiciary, Juvenile
  • State Properties

For a full look at the entire Henry County legislative delegation, check out my article here. Henry County has four state senators and six state reps who represent portions of the county. Lawmakers meet annually between January to April to pass the state budget and consider changes to state law.
