I am excited to announce The Henry Reporter has received the LION Sustainability Grant. The grant provides $20,000 to implement recommendations from my recent sustainability audit.
LION Sustainability Grant
The Henry Reporter, then-MHF News, participated in the LION Sustainability Audit during the fourth quarter of 2024. Local Independent Online News (LION) Publishers is a national membership organization geared to assist publications like mine. The audit paired me with an industry expect to learn more about the business. He then shared recommendations how I can improve. Several of those recommendations have already been implemented.
On January 1, 2025, MHF News rebranded to The Henry Reporter. The new name better reflects today’s news content. Visitors to the website will also notice a change when reading articles. Visitors can now sign-up for a free account to view a limited number of articles. After reaching the free article limit, they will be asked to subscribe. Reader subscriptions comprise the majority of my operating revenue, and I would not be able to exist without their support. If you wish to subscribe today, your support is greatly appreciated.
Local business owners, advertising opportunities are now available. Let’s discuss how The Henry Reporter can help share your business with the Henry County community.
Next, those on my e-mail newsletter list will receive more regular updates. Those who sign-up for a free account will automatically begin to receive my newsletter directly in their inbox.
How am I using the grant funding? The funds are paying for the new subscription software. The software also better integrates my website and the e-mail newsletter. Lastly, I will be hiring a coach to work with me throughout 2025 for continued improvements.
If you want to be part of making local news happen in Henry County, subscribe today. This website is possible because of you.
