Every year, MHF News shares a look back at my top ten posts of the year. As we prepare to start 2025, here’s the top ten posts of 2024. The list is decided by our readers and which articles you read the most.
At a glance, MHF News published 287 articles (and counting!) this year to bring you the latest updates about Henry County.
Top Ten Posts 2024
First, these articles made our six through ten. They include the following, in no particular order:
- Georgia DOT began road work on the western parallel connector, a new four-lane road beside I-75,
- Construction started on the McDonough Parkway north extension, the first project to break ground as part of Henry County T-SPLOST,
(Two articles about this project made spots 6-10) - the state DOT committed more than $500 million to expand I-75 in what is now Henry County’s most expensive road project, and
- Publix opened its latest store in the Dutchtown area. They started construction on another new location in Locust Grove.
Next, here’s a countdown of the top five:
- Dutch royalty visited McDonough to commemorate the opening of NewCold,
- Governor Kemp signed an increase in the childcare tax credit into law, sponsored by Rep. Daniel (R-Locust Grove),
- Raising Cane’s submitted plans for their first Henry County location due to open in early 2025, and
- Georgia DOT approved construction on a single-point urban interchange in Conyers.
Finally, our number 1 article of 2024, is….
…..Kroger will build their second Marketplace store off Highway 155 South in Luella. The store has an estimated opening in spring 2026.
MHF News wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Though there’s a few more articles on my to-do list before closing out the year, I want to extend my gratitude for another year of your support. As we look to 2025, this news website owes its existence to my supporters and subscribers. Thank you!
