Work starts Wednesday, October 28, on interstate concrete rehabilitation in north Henry and Clayton Counties. The project on Interstate 75 extends between the Walt Stephens Road overpass / mile 226 and state route 54 / mile 233 for a distance of six miles.

Moving Henry Forward first referenced the project in February 2020. Since then, Georgia DOT awarded a contract for the work in July to Webber, LLC of The Woodlands, TX in the amount of $15,420,200.00. The contract completion date is June 30, 2021.

Repairing the “slide” at I-675

As part of this project, full depth replacement of the concrete will take place on the outside shoulder, outside and middle lanes of I-75 South where it crosses under and curves to merge with I-675. The full depth replacement will allow for the curve to be regraded improving water runoff during rainy weather.

Many longtime followers of the page are familiar with the frequent tractor-trailer slides that occur in this area causing extensive hours-long traffic delays. The concrete rehabilitation project aims to correct this issue.
