The city of Stockbridge unanimously approved an annexation this week for fourteen acres located along State Route 138. The property is located immediately adjacent to the Clayton County line and borders existing neighborhoods along its western and southern property lines.

The applicant, Martin Bonea, has expressed an intent to combine the tract with other undeveloped parcels for future residential development. No rezoning was considered by the city council alongside the annexation and the applicant must wait one year before requesting any change in zoning.

Based on information shared at the council meeting, the future proposal for residential development will include forty-three (43) lots on twenty-one (21) acres. A rezoning to support that development could appear before the council in early 2021.
