The city of Stockbridge is in its second round of a Request for Proposals to select the contractor for its upcoming amphitheater project. The new 4,185 seat amphitheater is planned to be built behind city hall off North Henry Boulevard.
The project includes 50 new parking spaces, entry plaza, pre-function plaza, VIP structured-covered viewing boxes, terraced lawn seating, permanent sound booth covered-structure, outdoor stadium seating, elevated walkway, egress stairs& ramps, and sidewalks. In addition, the project has five (5) buildings. These buildings are: a two-story 4,685 sf stage pavilion with enclosed green room, a one-story 1,923 sf Will Call Building, a one-story 1,962 sf Main Restroom Building, and two (2) one-story 1,933 sf Concessions Buildings.

In April 2019, the city issued step one of the bidding process. The request for qualifications received six responses. In June, the council approved a shortlist of potential contractors for the project:
- Hogan Construction Group, LLC of Norcross, GA
- Russell S.P.A.C.E Venues Group – H.J. Russell & Company of Atlanta, GA
- Winter Johnson Group of Atlanta, GA
Only contractors on the approved short list may submit a proposal during step two. Proposals are due to the city by Friday, September 5, at 12 noon. Afterwards, staff will score the proposals before recommending a contractor to the city council.
The amphitheater has an estimated construction timeline of twelve to eighteen months. The project’s architect, Tunnel Spangler and Walsh, previously estimated construction costs at $10 million dollars not including road work or parking.
