Five candidates qualify for Locust Grove city council

Qualifying for the upcoming city council elections saw five candidates submit their names for consideration in Locust Grove. City residents will select three individuals in November to serve on the city council starting in January.

Qualified candidates include the following:

  • Michael Brackett Jr
  • Rudy Breedlove
  • Carlos Greer (I)
  • Otis Hammock (I)
  • Rod Shearouse

Sitting council member Vernon Ashe was the lone incumbent not to qualify to seek another term. Ashe was first elected to the city council in 2011 and has served two terms.

Mayor Robert Price qualifies uncontested for a third term

Sitting Locust Grove mayor Robert Price is the sole candidate for the mayor’s election in November. Price has served as mayor since January 2012 running unopposed for each term.

Price served on the city council between 2008 and 2011 prior to his election as mayor.

Be sure and check out the qualified candidates in Hampton, Stockbridge and McDonough. Thirteen municipal positions are on the ballot this November.
