The city of Stockbridge is preparing to build a long-envisioned amphitheater in the downtown area. The facility will be located on land behind city hall owned by Stockbridge.
At the city council meeting in June, Stockbridge selected an architect for the project. The council is working to break ground on the project within one year.

The city’s Livable Centers Initiative study from 2012 presented several options to redevelop downtown Stockbridge. Adding an amphitheater was a key project in one option. The study estimated a cost of $3.5 million to $6 million for the amphitheater construction, excluding the cost of land. SPLOST IV funding is expected to be used for the project.
