5 New Subdivisions on the March 2025 Zoning Board Meeting

The Henry County Zoning Advisory Board (ZAB) next meets on Thursday, March 13, 2025. Five new subdivisions are on the board’s meeting agenda.

The county is required to consider all rezoning applications submitted by the property owners. The submittal of an application does not guarantee its approval.

March 2025 Zoning Board

The Henry County ZAB meets at the county admin building in McDonough. Their upcoming meeting on Thursday, March 13, at 6:30 pm has the following agenda items:

Comprehensive Plan Amendment and Rezoning Request

  • Comprehensive Plan Amendment and Rezoning Request (Marker 1 on the above map)
    Liberty Communities, LLC of Stockbridge, GA requests an amendment to the Comprehensive Plan for property located on Highway 81 West, east of Highway 19/41. The property consists of 38.84 +/- acres. The request is to amend the Future Land Use Map designation from Low-Density Mixed Use (0-8 units per acre) and Medium-Density Suburban Residential (0-4 units per acre) to High-Density Suburban Residential (0-8 units per acre). District 5

    Liberty Communities, LLC of Stockbridge, GA requests a rezoning from RA (Residential-Agricultural) to RS (Residential Suburban) for property located on Highway 81 West, east of Highway 19/41. The property consists of 89.16 +/- acres and the request is for a single-family detached and townhome development. District 5

    Note the rezoning request applies to 89 acres whereas the comp plan amendment applies to 39 acres. A portion of the property has an existing high-density suburban residential category on the future land use map.
