Road Resurfacing Bid for 2025 Approved in Stockbridge

The Stockbridge council approved its 2025 road resurfacing bid. The project covers 6.8 miles of local roads. The work will cost close to $2.9 million.

Stockbridge Road Resurfacing Bid 2025

The city of Stockbridge accepted bids through September 17 for its road resurfacing. The city received seven bids. Blount Construction Company Inc. of Marietta, GA submitted the low bid. Their price was $2,874,956.02.

The city council approved the contract on November 12. They will use the following sources to pay for it:

  • T-SPLOST – $1,319,360.95
  • SPLOST Ill – $1,139,779.89
  • GDOT (LMIG) – $305,815.18
  • Henry County – $110,000.00
  • Total: $2,874,956.02

In January 2024, Henry County approved to use $110 thousand from its 2024 LMIG funds to assist Stockbridge. Specifically, the funds are to resurface Valley Hill Road. The other funds come from the city’s SPLOST dollars and LMIG dollars. The local maintenance improvement grant (LMIG) is an annual grant the state distributes to counties and cities.

What roads are included?

Stockbridge maintains 101.20 miles of roads, according to the state. The 2025 contract covers about 6.8 miles.

The following roads will see work:

  • Tye Street, from North Henry Blvd to Rosenwald Circle,
  • Valley Hill Road, from North Henry Blvd to East Atlanta Road,
  • Appleton subdivision:
    • Fairhaven Court,
  • Davidson Landing subdivision:
    • Sheffield Court,
    • Lombardy Way,
    • Susie Court,
    • Angel’s Drive,
    • Ken’s Court,
  • Falling Waters subdivision:
    • Amicolola Way,
  • Highlands subdivision:
    • Sutherland Way,
    • Braemar Court,
  • Magnolia’s at Eagle’s Landing subdivision:
    • Tripetal Way,
    • Hackberry Court,

The contractor will have 75 days to reach substantial completion after work begins. They have 90 days to be complete.
