Two Opportunities to Meet Your Candidates on Monday Night

Voters looking to meet their local candidates before the upcoming November 2024 election have two events to choose from on Monday, October 7. The Henry County NAACP will host their 2024 candidate forum for Henry County candidates. Meanwhile, Locust Grove will host a meet & greet with their mayor and council candidates.

Henry County NAACP Candidate Forum 2024

The Henry County NAACP will host their candidate forum on Monday, October 7, from 6:30 pm to 8 pm. It will be at Global Impact Christian Ministries. The church is located at 125 Red Oak Road in Stockbridge. This event is one of the best local opportunities to hear from the candidates all at one place.

All Henry County candidates have been invited to participate. Voters have multiple candidates on the ballot for sheriff and district commissioner in districts 1 and 4. Other county offices — county commission chair, district 2 commissioner, tax commissioner, coroner, district attorney and clerk of Superior Court — are unopposed on the ballot.

Locust Grove Candidate Meet & Greet

In addition, Locust Grove will host a candidate meet & greet. They have a special election for mayor and city council. The meet & greet will be on Monday, October 7, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. It will be at the city’s public safety building, located next to city hall.

Residents within Locust Grove city limits will see the special election on their ballots. Candidates for mayor are Carlos Greer, Bart Hammock and Vincent Williams. Voters will also select two new council members. Those candidates include the following:

Locust Grove Councilman (Greer)

For a term ending in December 2027.

  • Stuart Kingsley
  • E. Olivia McCornell
  • Weyman Price

Locust Grove Councilman (Williams)

For a term ending in December 2025.

  • Lester Clark
  • Cobra Knowles
