Renewal by Andersen Windows held a groundbreaking ceremony for their new manufacturing facility. The company will create 900 jobs in Locust Grove.
Andersen expects plant operations to begin in 2025. The site is located off Price Drive, near the future I-75 interchange at Bethlehem Road.
Renewal by Andersen Groundbreaking
State, local and company officials gathered at the project site on Wednesday morning, November 15. Local officials present included members of the Henry County legislative delegation, county commissioners and Locust Grove city council. State Senator Brian Strickland, County Chair Carlotta Harrell and Mayor Robert Price were among those who addressed the crowd. Company officials included the CEO and other executives from Andersen Windows. Also present were executives from Clayco / CRG, the project developer.
Andersen’s new facility will manufacture windows for their Renewal by Andersen product line. Renewal provides custom home windows for renovation projects. The Locust Grove location will be their first manufacturing facility in the southeast. The company is headquartered in Minnesota.
The company is investing $420 million dollars during their initial build. This is one of the largest corporate investments in Henry County history. There is also potential for later expansion and subsequent additional investment.
Future Interchange
The Andersen plant provides an anchor to the growing industrial hub around I-75 at Bethlehem Road. Georgia DOT plans to construct a new interstate exit at this location. The exit will tentatively begin construction in 2025. Road work should last an estimated three years to complete.
Altogether, about ten million square feet of industrial space is planned around the Bethlehem exit. A little under 50% is complete today.
