Henry County Fire Rescue is investing in its fleet. The county approved the purchase of six 2024 ambulance chassis this month.

The board previously approved this purchase in October 2022. The vendor has been unable to fulfill the order since then. The county has now located ambulance chassis from other locations.

2024 Ambulance Purchase

On October 3, the county commissioners approved the following purchases:

  • Two (2) 2024 Dodge Ram Ambulance Prep Chassis from M&L Ram Trucks in the amount of $152,309, utilizing ARPA Funds;
  • Four (4) 2024 Dodge Ram 4500 Ambulance Prep Chassis from Courtesy Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in the amount of $284,772, utilizing ARPA Funds; and
  • Two (2) 2024 Dodge Ram 5500 4X4 Remounts and Four (4) 2024 Dodge Ram 4500 4X2 Remounts from Reliant Emergency Specialities in the amount of $452,736, utilizing capital funds.

The county also rescinded the previous chassis purchase from October 2022.

Altogether, the six new ambulance chassis and their remount will cost $889,817. The remount removes the ambulance box from an existing Henry County ambulance and re-installs it on a new engine and truck cab. The county’s ambulance boxes are from Braun Ambulances.

Delivery of the new chassis and the remount should take a few months to complete.
