Springhill Suites Locust Grove

Springhill Suites and Towneplace Suites offer similar rooms. Travelhowto.com described the difference between them as follows:

TownePlace Suites are designed for extended-stay guests, offering larger rooms with kitchens and separate living areas. At the same time, SpringHill Suites are geared towards business travelers, offering rooms with limited kitchen facilities and a focus on meeting spaces.

The new Springhill Suites and Towneplace Suites hotel in Locust Grove will offer rooms under both brands. Both brands will be their first location in Henry County. Altogether, the four-story building will have 113 rooms. Rooms include a mixture of standard hotel rooms, studio units and one-bedrooms. The building exterior consists of cement fiberboard, stone-look cladding, architectural metal paneling, granite accents and other materials consistent with the hotel branding.

The new hotel will be south of Chick-fil-A and La Quinta Inn. This is located west of I-75 and off Bandy Parkway. The property has an existing commercial zoning from 2008. At the time, plans envisioned over one million square feet of commercial space. They never materialized because of the Great Recession.

The city council will consider approving exterior renderings for the project at their September meeting. Afterwards, the applicant may proceed forward and apply for building permits. The build-time for a 4-story hotel is about 18-24 months.
