Two new businesses have plans to locate on Marketplace Blvd in Locust Grove — Moe’s Southwest Grill and Express Oil Change. The new buildings will complete the four corners currently occupied by Zaxby’s and Steak ‘n Shake.
Moe’s Southwest Grill will be located on the northwest corner of the intersection where site grading activity has occurred to date. Express Oil Change plans to build on the northeast corner closest to the Walmart parking lot.

The Moe’s Southwest Grill will consist of one 4,320 square foot building with the main entrance facing Marketplace Blvd. The building exterior consists of alternating earth tone colors, primarily shades of gray, with brick, cinder block and stucco finishes on all four sides of the building.
The Locust Grove city council, acting in its capacity as the architectural review board, will consider approving the building exterior and design plans on Monday, November 16.
Moe’s Southwest Grill is being developed by Royal Seven Food LLC of McDonough, GA. According to their website, the company is also planning a BP service station, Moe’s and Schlotzsky’s at I-75 exit 205 / state route 16 in Jackson and Jamba Juice at I-75 exit 221 / Jonesboro Road in McDonough.
Express Oil Change
The city council reviewed and approved architectural plans for Express Oil Change at its last meeting on November 2. The business will be built facing to the south towards Zaxby’s and Bill Gardner Parkway.
The 5,705 +/- square foot building will include six vehicle bays to serve customers. The exterior design includes primarily shades of brown and gray with brick and stone walls.
Elsewhere on Marketplace Blvd, property has been rezoned to allow for construction of a new bank at the corner of state route 42. A traffic signal is planned at the intersection with the city finalizing easements before letting the project out for construction. On the other side of I-75, Chick-fil-A and Waffle House are planned on the Bandy property south of Bill Gardner Parkway.
