
The rezoning request was withdrawn in October 2019. The Stockbridge city council denied the applicant’s request in July 2020 after it was refiled.
A rezoning request in the city of Stockbridge is proposing townhouses off Hudson Bridge Road. If constructed, the residential development will complete a master planned development annexed into the city and approved in 2002.

New tenants like Smashburger and Dentistry for Children have added to the well-established commercial activity center.
The seventy acre parcel was approved in 2002 for “a minimum of 200 residential units and a maximum of 343,500 square feet of commercial/office/retail space.” The twenty acres being considered for rezoning and development now are proposed to include 138 townhouses and two retail / food buildings.

The residential component to the project proposes 138 fee simple, individual owner, townhouses on eighteen acres of land. The gross density equals 6.8 dwelling units per acre and the net density equals 9.0 dua. Planned amenities include a clubhouse, pool, and play lawn area. The proposed build-out includes significantly less units than the initial 2002 approval.
City code requires townhouses to include 1,000 square feet of heated space for one-bedroom units, 1,300 sq ft for two-bedroom units, and 1,400 sq ft for three-bedroom units. The proposed individual units will range between twenty and twenty-four feet wide and fifty-five feet deep.
