The city of Locust Grove has submitted the initial application to the Georgia Department of Community Affairs to begin the development of regional impact review for the 75 South Logistics Center. This involves the ninety-eight acres under consideration for possible annexation along Colvin Drive and Davis Lake Road.
The application is being filed because of the requested annexation and rezoning. The form notes plans for 1,962,500 square feet of industrial space in two buildings. Building 1 totals 1,364,000 square feet and building 2 includes 598,500 square feet.
The developer for the project is listed as TC Atlanta Development, Inc. The company’s registration with the Georgia Secretary of State is listed under foreign profit corporation with a primary registration address in Dallas, Texas.
The DRI review will now proceed to a traffic study. The proposed annexation and rezoning will have a public hearing before the city council in a few months. Concerned residents are encouraged to contact Locust Grove city hall and Moving Henry Forward will publish an article when the public hearing is scheduled.
I do not believe you are even possibly thinking this would be better. You will be losing residents as they move further out to other counties. Then stuck with empty warehouses, traffic that goes no where, repairs to roads as they deteriorate because of commercial wear. Then your shopping stores leave because residents shop closer to there residence. Warehouses will bring different workers in and crime will rise. Good luck if you think this is moving henry forward. Your right we will be moving to Butts,Forsyth or Pike counties!
I encourage you to contact Locust Grove city hall with your concerns. This page shares news about transportation projects and proposed rezoning’s throughout Henry County. One of my goals is to increase citizen engagement with our local governments.
