
Henry County Schools is accepting school choice applications this month for the upcoming 2025-26 year. This program allows parents to apply to transfer their child to another school within the district. The application deadline is January 31, 2025.
The school choice program should not be confused with the school voucher program, new this year in Georgia. That program is often referred to as school choice as well.
Henry County School Choice 2025-26
Henry County Schools opened the school choice application on January 13, 2025. They also shared the list of eligible schools. These are the schools which parents may apply to transfer into. Schools must have available capacity to be on the list.
This year, there are 17 elementary schools, 5 middle schools and 6 high schools eligible for applications. They include the following:

- Hickory Flat Elementary
- Luella Elementary
- New Hope Elementary
- Pates Creek Elementary
- Red Oak Elementary

- Smith Barnes Elementary (4th-5th grades)
- Stockbridge Elementary (K-3rd grades)

How to Apply
The application, and more details about the program, are on the district website. This includes the requirements for a student to be eligible. The application deadline is January 31, 2025.
If the district receives more applicants for a particular school than space is available, then the district will use a lottery to determine which applications are selected.
