During Tuesday’s meeting, the Henry County Board of Commissioners approved two land purchases in Fairview for a future public safety complex. The purchases are funded via SPLOST IV through the Fairview police station project account.

Parcel number 025-04004006 consists of 13.14 acres at the intersection of Fairview Road and Panola Road. The purchase price is $667,000 from 16 Fairview Road LLC out of Stockbridge.

Parcel number 025-04004002 includes 6.46 acres and is located on Panola Road. The purchase price is $333,000 from GMB Properties LLC out of Fayetteville.

Total purchase price is one million dollars, plus closing costs. This will leave one million dollars in the SPLOST IV project account.

Additional funds will be budgeted within SPLOST V to construct the Fairview police station and rebuild fire station 6. The existing fire station was opened in 1989.

This land purchase will also allow for county satellite offices. Earlier this year, a satellite office for building and plan review opened in fire station 6. Other county services could be housed on the new land in the future.
