The Georgia High School Sports Association (GHSA) state basketball playoffs 2025 first round begin on Tuesday, February 18. Henry County has 11 teams competing in the playoffs.
State Basketball Playoffs 2025 First Round
Boys Teams
Dutchtown boys finished second in Region 5A-3. They will host Decatur, region 5A-4 seed 3.
Four Henry County boys teams qualified from Region 4A-2:
- McDonough, Region 4A-2 seed 1, will host Cedar Shoals, Region 4A-8 seed 4,
- Eagles Landing, Region 4A-2 seed 2, will host East Forsyth (County), Region 4A-8 seed 3,
- Union Grove, Region 4A-2 seed 3, will travel to Eastside (Covington), Region 4A-8 seed 2, and
- Hampton, Region 4A-2 seed 4, will travel to North Oconee, Region 4A-8 seed 1.
Lastly, Luella boys are the 19 seed in AAA. They will travel to Adairsville, seed 14. AAA uses a power rating system for seeding instead of region-based seeds.
Boys playoff games are on Wednesday, February 19.
Girls Teams
Dutchtown girls finished as the 4th seed in Region 5A-3. They will travel to play Woodward Academy, region 5A-4 seed 1.
In AAAA, three Henry County girls teams made the playoffs:
- Stockbridge, Region 4A-2 seed 2, will host Eastside (Covington), Region 4A-8 seed 3,
- Union Grove, Region 4A-2 seed 3, will travel to East Forsyth (County), Region 4A-8 seed 2, and
- Woodland, Region 4A-2 seed 4, will travel to North Oconee, Region 4A-8 seed 1.
The Luella girls team is the 6th seed in AAA. They will host Westover (Albany), seed 27.
Girls playoff games are on Tuesday, February 18.
