
Locust Grove is advising motorists about a road closure this upcoming Wednesday, October 16. It will be on highway 42 for movie filming. Motorists will need to use alternate routes.
Highway 42 Road Closure
The road closure is on highway 42 between Peeksville Road and Indian Creek Road. In addition, a portion of Cleveland Street will be closed. The roads will be closed from 7 am to 6 pm.
The city shared the following message:
ATTN: WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2024 there will be road closures and possible delays in Downtown Locust Grove.
This closure will from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm will begin at the intersection of Hwy 42 / Peeksville Road, moving southward through Downtown, just beneath the junction of Hwy 42 / Indian Creek Road. Additionally, Smith Street and portions of Indian Creek Road will be affected. The area in front of Warren Holder Equipment, which creates a triangular shape between Hwy 42 and Cleveland Street, will be closed off. Recommended alternative routes are as follows:
- East side: Jackson Street / Peeksville Road
- West side: Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. / Tanger Blvd.
The closure is reported to be for “R&B,” a new film being produced by Tyler Perry and Netflix. Perry has previously filmed other movies, like A Madea Christmas, in McDonough.
