Henry County has close to $2 billion dollars in ongoing and upcoming major transportation projects. This includes both state, county and city projects. Now, MHF News is excited to share this information on our Henry County project map.
The upcoming SPLOST VI program would allocate an additional $90 million dollars in county collections to major projects. Voters will decide on their November ballot whether to approve the SPLOST program.
Project Funding
A few weeks ago, I published a chart breaking down the funding towards major projects. It’s republished below in case you missed it:
Out of the nearly $2 billion dollars allocated to major projects, less than 10% of it comes from local sources. This includes the Henry County SPLOST V and T-SPLOST programs. Please note this chart does not assume any funding from SPLOST VI. I will update the chart to reflect that funding if voters approve the program.

Where is that money allocated? What projects are on the horizon? MHF News is pleased to share our all-new Henry County major project map. It is my hope that readers will find this map useful and beneficial.
Please know this map does not depict any intersection improvements, resurfacing projects or other maintenance work. Instead, it focuses on road widening projects and new roads.
Understanding the Map’s Colors
The map’s colors illustrate a little more information about each project:
- I-75 Express Lanes – dark purple
- I-75 Truck Lanes – light purple
- Georgia DOT projects under construction now or beginning construction by 2025 – dark green
- Georgia DOT projects beginning construction in the 2027–2030 timeframe – orange
- Transportation SPLOST projects – yellow
- SPLOST VI design and / or right of way only projects – light blue or teal
- SPLOST VI construction projects – dark blue
The SPLOST VI projects are dependent if voters approve the local sales tax program. Finally, a few miscellaneous projects are shown in an olive or tan color.
