A southeastern homebuilder recently closed on what will become their first project in Henry County. Stanley Martin Homes plans to construct a new subdivision, River Oaks, in Locust Grove.
The 93-acre property can support 150 homes. It is located off LG-Griffin Road.
River Oaks Subdivision
The River Oaks subdivision is located off LG-Griffin Road. It is between I-75 and Tanger Blvd. Clearing work for the property is already complete, and 78 lots are ready for home construction. Another 72 lots have an approved land disturbance permit.
The company expects the first homes will be open for sales beginning in late 2024. An estimated price point is not yet available. Price points in some of their other Atlanta-area subdivisions start in the $400 thousands.
The property is an original part of the Locust Grove Station and Indian Creek housing developments. Both projects went through rezoning in 2002. The remnants of the projects have built in recent years. This has resulted in new subdivisions along Tanger Blvd and LG-Griffin Road.
Stanley Martin Homes closed on the River Oaks subdivision property in July 2024, according to the company. This will be their first project in Henry County. It may also be their first project in south metro Atlanta, based on their website. Their other projects around Atlanta are in Bartow, Cherokee, Fulton and Gwinnett Counties.
