
Ryder System, Inc. will be opening a new distribution center in Locust Grove, according to a press release from the Governor’s office. Specifically, the new distribution center will be in an under-construction building off Colvin Drive and Davis Lake Road.

Ryder System, Inc., a leader in supply chain, dedicated transportation, and commercial fleet management solutions, will invest $44 million to open a new distribution center. The project expects to create more than 250 jobs.

Ryder presently manages fifty-nine operations and employs more than 2,900 people in Georgia. They provide critical supply chain, transportation, and fleet management solutions for more than 50,000 customers throughout North America and the United Kingdom. The company also manages nearly 235,000 commercial vehicles and operates more than 300 warehouses.
Ryder will build out a 678,000 square foot building at 355 Davis Lake Road. The site is within phase II of Gardner Logistics Park in Locust Grove. Ryder is planning to utilize the building to accelerate growth for its e-commerce and multi-customer warehousing offerings. The company will be hiring for the following:
- warehouse pickers / packers and shippers,
- forklift operators, and
- management / supervisory positions.
At the time of publication, construction for the new building has not yet started on the exterior walls. Construction is estimated to conclude this summer.
Gardner Logistics Park
Following Ryder’s announcement, the Gardner Logistics Park has space remaining in two buildings. Both of which are concurrently under construction. Phase II building 2 will have 234,200 square feet when complete. Finally, phase III on the north side of Colvin Drive is building a one million square foot building.
