The Henry County Chamber of Commerce invites residents to attend one of several upcoming T-SPLOST town halls. The T-SPLOST town halls will be available in a virtual format.

The chamber is leading the effort to encourage voters to pass transportation SPLOST in November. If the vote passes, then T-SPLOST will collect an estimated $245 million for local transportation projects.

T-SPLOST Town Halls

There are three town halls available. They include the following:

  • Bi-Partisan town halls with legislators: Thursday, September 23, and Wednesday, October 27. Both town halls will happen from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
  • Town hall with county and city officials: Sunday, October 10, from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

State Representative Demetrius Douglas, State Senator Brian Strickland and State Senator Emanuel Jones will take part during the legislator town halls. Henry County Chair Carlotta Harrell will lead the town hall with local officials.

Attendees can register by filling out the form here. Attendees will receive an e-mail with the event link afterwards.

If T-SPLOST passes, then Henry County will receive $165 million in collections. The county plans to expend $155 million on major road projects:

  • Bill Gardner Parkway widening, I-75 to SR 155 — $34 million
