Governor Kemp announced on Monday morning that Purple Innovation, Inc. (“Purple”), has selected Henry County to open their third US manufacturing firm and first on the east coast. The new facility will result in a $21 million dollar capital investment and create an estimated 360 jobs.

Purple is known for their signature product, the Purple Mattress. The company was established in 2015 and produces innovative comfort products like mattresses, pillows, and seat cushions. Purple’s patented gel technology, called the Purple Grid™, was developed to provide excellent support without sacrificing comfort through a surface that provides pressure relief.

The new advanced manufacturing operation will be located in Building B at Southern Gateway at Lambert Farms. The company signed a new lease agreement with PNK S2, LLC for 519,680 square feet last week, as first reported by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

The building is expected to be fully operational in 2021.

Building B offers 1.1 million square feet (MSF) of floor space and is part of a master-planned 260 acre industrial development. Approximately 3.4 MSF of industrial space is planned at full build-out.

Southern Gateway at Lambert Farms is located off State Route 42 and King Mill Road in McDonough. Plans include four buildings at full build-out. Building A will be the largest on-site with close to 1.6 MSF under one roof. Other buildings C & D offer smaller build to suit opportunities ranging between 275,400 square feet and 358,400 square feet of space.
