The Department of Public Health continues to open additional testing sites for the COVID-19 virus, most recently adding a site in Henry County. The test site started seeing patients on Wednesday, April 22.

DPH will test any symptomatic individual. They are also testing any health care workers, first responders, law enforcement and long-term care facility residents and staff regardless of whether they are or are not symptomatic.

Those wishing to be tested MUST CALL the Clinical Call Center to answer a few questions and to get a PUI # and an appointment time. You WILL NOT be seen without the PUI # and appointment.

The screening number is 1-800-847-4262. Test results are generally available after 48–72 hours.

  1. Are the tests administered in outside tents, or do those who are tested gave access to restrooms and where the Meals on Wheels are prepared?

    • Other testing sites are administered outside with patients remaining in their vehicles and I expect the set-up to be similar in McDonough. You can follow up with either the county government or Department of Public Health to be certain.
