The McDonough city council adopted a letter of support and agreed to pay future lighting costs associated with a dual roundabout planned at the intersection of state route 20 and Lawrenceville St / McGarity Rd. The item was part of the consent agenda and adopted without discussion.
McDonough is contributing $300,000 from SPLOST IV towards the project. Total project costs are estimated at $4.3 million with the difference funded by house bill 170.
A public information open house about the project is anticipated in spring 2020. Right of way acquisition starts in fall 2020. Construction lets in fall 2021.
