Henry County intends to hire a contractor to resurface 79 roads located in districts 1 and 5. This is the second road resurfacing bid issued by the county so far in 2025. The county’s SPLOST VI program will pay for the work.
Resurface 79 Roads
Henry County shared the request for bids on Wednesday, April 16. Contractors have until Wednesday, May 14, to submit their bid. The project will resurface 79 roads totaling about 33 miles. Those roads include the following:

The board could consider awarding a contract as early as June 2025. The selected contractor will have 300 days to complete the work.
Major Roads Bid
In March, Henry County published a bid to resurface several major roads within the county. That project includes Eagles Landing Parkway / Hudson Bridge Road / East Lake Parkway, Flippen Road, Kelleytown Road and Keys Ferry Road. Bids closed on April 16.
CW Matthews Contracting submitted a low bid of $15.861 million, closely followed by the second-lowest bid from ER Snell at $15.871 million. The board of commissioners will presumably consider awarding a bid in May. This project is also paid for by SPLOST VI.
