Henry County Approved its 2nd Major Resurfacing Contract of 2025

Henry County plans to resurface about 85 miles of roads in 2025. The work will be done in three contracts. Henry County has approved the second major road resurfacing contract of 2025. A third major contract is forthcoming later this month. Altogether, the three contracts represent about $42 million in road resurfacing this year. The work is part of SPLOST VI.

Second Resurfacing Contract of 2025

Henry County commissioners approved the second major resurfacing contract of 2025 at their Tuesday, June 3, meeting. The contract covers 79 roads in districts 1 and 5. It will cost the county $13.95 million.

E.R. Snell Contracting Company of Snellville, GA was the lowest bidder. They will have 18 months once work begins to complete the resurfacing. This is a change from the original contract timeframe.

Major Roads Contract

Last month, Henry County approved a resurfacing contract for several major roads. That contract covers Eagles Landing Parkway, Hudson Bridge Road, a portion of East Lake Parkway, Flippen Road, Kelleytown Road and Keys Ferry Road. CW Matthews Contracting of Marietta, GA will complete the project for $15.86 million.

Third Resurfacing Contract

Lastly, the county has an upcoming third major resurfacing contract. It covers 103 roads in districts 2, 3 and 4. The county accepted bids for this contract in May. Six contractors submitted bids. The low bid was $11.95 million by Blount Construction Company, Inc. Henry County staff have shared the board will consider awarding this contract at their next meeting on June 17.
