Upcoming Meetings the Week of June 2, 2025

It is the beginning of a new month! As the calendar turns to June, the monthly meeting calendar resets. The Locust Grove council, Henry County BOC and McDonough council have meetings during the week of June 2, 2025.

Meetings the Week of June 2, 2025

Locust Grove Council

The Locust Grove city council meets on Monday, June 2, at 6 pm. The council meets at the city’s public safety building on Highway 42. This is the city’s regular meeting when council members will vote on agenda items. They discuss items during the workshop meeting on the third Monday of the month.

Some excerpts from the city’s agenda includes the following items:

  • consider rezoning 0.99 acres at 917 Jackson Street from RA to OI to repurpose the existing home for a proposed counseling center,
  • consider rezoning 3.27 acres at 77 Rosser Lane from RA to R-2 to subdivide the property to build two single-family homes,
  • approve a renewed intergovernmental agreement for Henry County to administer the city elections; this agenda item is being considered by every city in the county,
  • review streetlight districts and final plats for various new subdivisions, and
  • approve land clearing for a forthcoming new sidewalk on a portion of Grove Road.

Henry County BOC

Next, the Henry County Board of Commissioners will meet on Tuesday morning, June 3, at 9 am. The county commissioners meet at the Henry County Admin Building located on Henry Parkway in McDonough.

Excerpts from the county’s agenda include the following items:

  • a presentation / update on potential Community Improvement Districts (CIDs) on Jonesboro Road and Eagles Landing Parkway,
  • award construction for a new disc golf course at Bud Kelley Park,
  • approve construction for a new roundabout at Henry Parkway and Henry Parkway Connector in McDonough,
  • award a resurfacing bid for various roads in districts 1 and 5, and
  • approve hiring a design engineer for the Keys Ferry Road extension project in Ola.

McDonough Council

Lastly, the McDonough council will meet on Thursday, June 5, at 6 pm. The council meets at McDonough City Hall.
