Henry Schools 2024 School Climate Ratings

The Georgia School Climate Star Rating system is an annual evaluation of school environments designed to assess safety, relationships, and overall conditions that support student learning. The ratings range from 1 to 5 stars, with 5 stars indicating an excellent school climate and 1 star indicating significant challenges in the school’s environment. The ratings are based on multiple factors, including:

  • feedback on School Climate Surveys from students, teachers, and families on school safety, relationships, and overall school environment,
  • student discipline,
  • a safe and substance-free learning environment, and
  • student and staff school attendance.

Schools are given a 0-100 numerical score and then assigned a star rating based on that score. For 2023-2024, two HCS schools received 5-star ratings. Those schools were Union Grove High School and Union Grove Middle School. An additional 17 schools received 4 stars. Most of the district, 26 out of 50 schools, received a 3-star rating. Lastly, five schools had two stars. The scores for each school are below.

Prior to the 2023-2024 school year, the state last issued school climate ratings in 2019. Gaps in reporting data during the COVID-19 pandemic caused the state to suspend many of their annual scoring metrics. More information about the School Climate ratings are available on the Georgia Department of Education website.

The School Ratings

A detailed breakdown of the score for each school is available on the state’s CCRPI dashboard. An overview of the district’s 2024 CCRPI scores was previously published in December.
