Henry County Issues a Resurfacing Bid for 103 Roads

Henry County plans to resurface about 85 miles of roads in 2025. The work will be done in three contracts. Henry County has published a resurfacing bid for 103 roads. This contract will cover roads in districts 2, 3 and 4. The county has another contract accepting bids to resurface 79 roads in districts 1 and 5.

Henry County voters approved SPLOST VI in November 2024. Sales tax collections began on April 1, 2025. The county allocated about $62 million from the six-year program for road resurfacing.

Resurface 103 Roads

Henry County released the resurfacing bid on April 23. Contractors have until Wednesday, May 21, at 3 pm to submit their bids. The contract will resurface 103 roads or about 31 miles.

The board of commissioners could consider awarding a construction contract as soon as June. The selected contractor will have 300 days from the notice to proceed to complete the work.

Other Resurfacing Contracts

Henry County is concurrently accepting bids to resurface 79 roads in districts 1 and 5. View that project list here. Bids are due on Wednesday, May 14.

The county also accepted bids to resurface several major roadways. Those roads are Eagles Landing Parkway / Hudson Bridge Road / East Lake Parkway, Flippen Road, Kelleytown Road and Keys Ferry Road. Bids closed on April 16. The low bid was $15.861 million. The board of commissioners will presumably consider awarding the contract in May.
