Georgia has released its revised and final list of the lowest-performing schools for 2024-2025. Henry County Schools has 23 schools on the lowest-performing list.

A school’s placement on the list determines a student’s eligibility to receive the Georgia Promise scholarship. This program, commonly known as school vouchers, was passed last year.

The Georgia Promises scholarship law, passed in 2024, requires the state to publish a list of the lowest-performing 25% of schools. The list is based on a two-year average of CCRPI scores from 2023 and 2024. Though a school may appear on the list, many schools saw improvements in their scores from 2023 to 2024. An in-depth look at school performance was shared in our original December article.

Parents of students who presently attend one of the schools above are eligible to apply for the Georgia Promises scholarship. The scholarship will provide up to $6,500 per student to assist in paying for a private school or charter school. The initial application window opens on March 1. It will be available from March 1 to April 15. Additional information is on the Georgia Promises website.
