Do you have comments or concerns about new development in Henry County? A new Henry County survey is seeking resident feedback on development patterns.

The survey is part of a broader project underway by Henry County in collaboration with Georgia Tech and Clayton State University. The survey is available until the end of 2022.

Development Patterns Survey

The Henry County Transportation Planning Department has received a Georgia Smart Communities Challenge grant. The grant, in conjunction with Georgia universities, encourages local governments to utilize technology in their planning and research. Henry County is using the grant to develop a web-based tool to evaluate the impact of freight intensive land uses and infrastructure projects.

Henry County is conducting a survey asking residents their opinion on development patterns within the county. The survey takes about ten minutes to complete.

For example, the survey asks residents to rate whether Henry County should adopt the following economic policies:

  • Increase industrial development (e.g., manufacturing facilities)
  • Increase commercial development (e.g., retail, office parks, small businesses)
  • Increase employment centers (e.g., Data Centers, Advanced Manufacturing)
  • Improve traffic management and reduce congestion
  • Expand freight transportation network
  • Increase the amount of, or access to, affordable housing
  • Increase access to health care facilities (e.g., clinics, pharmacies, healthcare parks)
  • Increase indoor recreational opportunities (e.g., restaurants, movie theaters)

Residents can access the survey below.

The survey is open until December 31, 2022.

Smart Communities Grant

Henry County will conclude the smart communities grant during fall 2023. More details about the grant, project timeline and Henry County Transportation Planning Department are on the county website.
