The new Chick-fil-A in Union Grove is scheduled to open later this month. The store’s grand opening is expected on Thursday, February 17.
Chick-fil-A Union Grove
The new store is located on highway 155 south of East Lake Parkway. Specifically, the restaurant is between Wendy’s and Advance Auto Zone.
All new builds for Chick-fil-A include a dual-lane drive-thru. This allows for more guests (and chicken sandwiches!) to be served. Dine-in seating is also available.
To help facilitate traffic movement, a new traffic signal is going in off highway 155. The signal will be between Chick-fil-A and Wendy’s. An expected start date for the new signal is not presently available.
Moving Henry Forward first shared plans for the Union Grove restaurant in December 2020. The company is also constructing a new location in Locust Grove. The Bill Gardner Parkway location should open in April.
Kroger Marketplace
Chick-fil-A is located on an outparcel for the Kroger Marketplace development. Kroger halted construction several years ago during a corporate restructuring. Last month, county staff shared Kroger is looking to resume construction. No other details are available at this time.
In addition, the last outparcel has found a tenant. The outparcel is next to Burger King off East Lake Road. An automated car wash could soon be under construction at the location.
The zoning advisory board approved a variance request for the car wash in January. The variance allows for additional auto parking spaces for the car wash business. If any other business type locates there, then the variance would not apply.
