Jodeco Road Med One
On Thursday, March 4, Henry County announced a new medical office development at the intersection of Jodeco Road and Tunis Road. The project plans a four building development totaling 88,000 square feet.
The first building, measuring 48,000 square feet, is expected to break ground in April. When complete, tenants will include Atlanta Heart Associates, Bartholomew Comprehensive Dental Care, and Eagles Landing OB/GYN.
Later buildings will include an ambulatory surgery center, urgent care, assisted living development, and a pharmacy. Nearby, off Patrick Henry Parkway, Encompass Health is concurrently building their new surgical rehab center.
Education SPLOST Voting
This week marks the third and final week of early voting for education SPLOST. Early voting will be available Monday – Friday between 8 am to 5 pm at six locations:

As of Friday afternoon, March 5, a total of 926 voters had cast their ballot. This includes 886 early voters and 40 voters by mail.
This week is also the final week of early voting for the Locust Grove city council special election. Vernon Ashe and James Vincent Williams are running to fill an open council seat.
Finally, voters in house district 90 have an election this Tuesday, March 9. Polls in the district will be open from 7 am to 7 pm. Voters can choose between Stan Watson and Angela Moore. The district contains parts of DeKalb, Henry and Rockdale Counties.
Transit Survey
Henry County held its first public meeting for the transit master plan during the last week of February. Now, residents can participate in the plan via survey and an online mapping portal.
The county’s transit master plan aims to develop a thirty-year blueprint for transit services. Henry County has operated public transit since 1990; however, before COVID-19, the system could not fulfill all requests for service. The plan will be complete in fall 2021.
Visit the transit master plan website to participate in the survey or mapping portal.
