Happy Wednesday! Today, May 7, marks National Tourism Day. Did you know visitors to Henry County spent $504 million in 2023? This revenue directly supports local hotels, shops and restaurants. It also contributed about $64 million to local sales tax collections or about 25% of the county’s overall sales tax collections.

Those numbers are according to Visit Henry, the local tourism marketing group. Check out their website for fun local recommendations you may not already be familiar with.

Henry County adopted on Tuesday its plan for a new local bus route between McDonough and Stockbridge. They also approved the bus stops creative placemaking / public art study. The study prepared art concepts for various bus stops along the route.

The new bus route will begin service later this year. The county received a federal grant to cover 80% of the operating costs for the first three years. Check out the full article below to learn more.
